Software Support Technician- £18,000-£21,000- Norwich, Norfolk The Role Do you have a further education qualification in Engineering, Maths, Science or Computing, coupled with a keen interest and aptitude in computing technology? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are a software technology provider, looking to appoint a Software Support Technician to help us continue to advance our software applications and services. This role is Monday-Friday, usual office hours, with scope for remote working. The successful candidate may be required to visit client offices for training or support related tasks as well as assisting in activities involved in the sale and marketing of our software and services. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of a Software Support Technician include, but are not limited to: Provide user workflow assistance and technical support to software user group through a cloud helpdesk portal, telephone conversations, chat and web meeting technologies. Conduct online and classroom software training courses for the customer. Provide clear and accurate workflow instruction for consumption by software users. Create, test and deliver on-time customised and commissioned material for clients. Provide as part of a team supporting files and documentation required for the software. Take part in activities related to the sale and marketing of the software and services, including sales demonstrations and business events. Perform software testing for all applications and services developed by Geologix and provide fully analysed results. Generate a friendly, personalised and professional relationship with our customers. The Company Geologix Limited is a software technology provider within the international energy industry. The Person The key skills and qualities of a Software Support Technician are: Further education (or similar), qualifications in Engineering, Maths, Science or Computing - Degree level qualification preferred. A keen interest and aptitude in computing technology. Strong affinity with data, numbers and analysis techniques is preferred. Good communications skills, both written and verbal. Strong self-motivation and desire to be part of a team. Good organisational and time-management skills. A positive attitude. Confidence when presenting to groups of people. Initiative and adaptability. Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information. Polite and professional manner. Satisfaction in helping others.
