Position: Positive Behaviour Support & Active Support Partner Location: Sidcup, Kent Salary: £36,500 per annum (£1,200 per annum car allowance) Role: Permanent & Full Time Start: ASAP Our client is a specialist provider of adult social care, supporting people with complex needs to enjoy life. We are now seeking to appoint a full time Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Active Support (AS) Partner to join their Quality Assurance and Practice team, working with internal and external stakeholders for their Southeast subsidiary in Kent and Sussex. Your Role Undertake assessments, including functional assessments and provide guidelines and advice on supporting people who display behaviour described as challenging. Implement Behaviour Support Plans, working with individuals and support teams to achieve positive outcomes for the people we support and other stakeholders. Effectively manage and prioritise a caseload of internal referrals along with other responsibilities. Deliver training in Positive Behaviour Support and Active Support, this will include becoming a BILD physical intervention accredited trainer. Advise on best practice and provide practice leadership and coaching to employees and managers, including providing direct support. Maintain an understanding of the social care sector and how it impacts on areas of responsibility and on the organisation. Liaise and work in partnership with other professionals. Maintain relationships and liaise regularly with the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent and external behaviour support networks. Review & update systems in response to need & best practice. Due to the nature of this role, regional travel will be needed, the successful candidates must have a full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle, car user allowance will be paid. About you A self-starter who is results-focused with a desire to succeed. Experience of working in social care - particularly desirable to have experience of working with people with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs. A qualification or substantial training and experience in Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support. Experience of delivering training. Experience of leading and managing a team; providing practice leadership. Ability to communicate confidently and effectively and maintain positive relationships at all levels within the organisation and with external agencies. Ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met, with the ability to be self-motivated and undertake tasks unsupervised. Ability to influence and negotiate confidently in a challenging and ever-changing environment. Knowledge, understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
