Job Summary

The Clinical Field Manager (CFM) would work as a partner to an area CFD by assisting in the following in a given area/market. They would also partner with District Managers to further cultivate a OneTeam culture in their area. They would do this while maintaining normal patient care hours initially and may have administrative days assigned as needed. Clinical Field Manager instructs, teaches and supports an optometrist(s) or one new to the organization. They work closely with the learner, watching and coaching in skill application. The position will also be used to develop future leadership at MED on the Professional Services team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote the best OD and patient experience.
  • Demonstrate, foster, and enhance the MyEye Dr. OneTeam culture.
  • Primary responsibilities prioritized and outline below:
    • OD Engagement
      • As a local leader and member of PS Leadership Team, the CFM should build meaningful relationships which allows for incoming and outgoing feedback and also facilitates OD engagement. The CFM should be an advocate for advancing ideas received and work with the CFD to help improve both OD relations and OD-Operations relations within their area.
      • Uphold and embody clinical ethics, values and standards to elevate our profession and MyEyeDr position in the market locally and nationally.
    • OD On-Boarding
      • As a valuable member of the PS Leadership Team, CFM will be a strategic partner in new OD on-boarding as assigned. As part of this they will initiative MED culture integration, quality of clinical care, and importance of Key Patient Indicators. Assist with the transition to clinical environment in order to ensure safe and quality patient care including reliable testing
    • OD Training
      • CFM will assist in answering day-to-day questions not limited to, but including Eyefinity EMR questions, office flow, OD-GM relations and will work with CFD to be an advocate in resolving these. In collaboration with CFD and with operations, the CFM will help identify areas of improvement needed and initiate action plans if necessary.
    • Credentialing
      • Work in partnership with credentialing team to understand the process and then assist with proper communication on needs to the ODs.
    • OD Meetings
      • Help in the organization, planning and content development for local area OD meetings.
      • The CFM would assist the CFD in presentation of relevant topics and would help to work with preferred vendors for sponsorship when assigned.
    • Special Projects
      • Assigned via CFD or other PS leadership to develop the CFM's knowledge and critical thinking ability while assisting the PS team in achieving key initiatives and objectives.

Work Experience
  • 2-5 years clinical experience within a similar organization, including proven strength as a practicing OD in a high volume, high performance office location.
  • Leadership within Optometric multi-office management preferred
  • High competency in the practice of both medial optometry and the retail /optical aspects of optometric practice.


• Doctor of Optometry (O.D. degree)

  • Proficiency regarding the practice of Optometry, including medical and retail aspects.
  • Exceptional patient care skills and ability to assist offices in area of responsibility to achieve/exceed KPI (Key Patient Indicator) goals. Ability to work across a variety of departments to problem solve patient service issues and demands.

• Computer proficiency in: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Working Conditions

• Requires the ability to communicate, exchange information and utilize Optometric equipment to practice Optometry and move about the office.

• Local, weekly travel as needed within districts in geographical areas of responsibility.

• Periodic out of town travel for company meetings may be required.

• Travel between offices and to various regional or companywide meetings is required.

• Access information using a computer.

• Effectively communicate and exchange information with others.

• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.

• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and move about the office.

• Retail office setting and medical optometric, clinic setting .
