Job Overview

Coca-Cola Consolidated is seeking an IT Development Engineer II to join our Agile Development organization. This role will be responsible for the development, configuration, and testing of applications and processes as per the technical requirements and specifications for the application and identifying opportunities for improvement or automation of existing processes. The IT Development Engineer II will be joining a team responsible for delivering value both to the business as well as internally to the IT Development Community of Service (CoS), with deliverables in the areas of innovation and enablement of cloud, data, web, integration, and process domains. Seeking someone with a positive, can-do attitude with a servant-leader mentality, able to build new solutions from scratch, able to think quick on their feet and outside the box to resolve difficult situations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Writes code in enterprise standard programming languages (C#, .Net, SQL, SSIS, JavaScript) to optimize the performance and efficiency of an organization’s IT platform/infrastructure.
  • Leverages integration knowledge to develop efficient data movement across all solutions.
  • Designs and Develops new APIs, and enhances and configures existing APIs.
  • Participates in the design and development of proof-of-concept applications, delivering
  • Writes diagnostic programs to test integrated software/hardware systems and resolve system faults to indicate that the program is not functioning properly or meeting the technical/functional requirements.
  • Participates and actively contributes to the following Agile Scrum activities - Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective and Backlog Grooming
  • Creates technical documentation of systems software programs and code to be leveraged for audit purposes and documents why the program was built.
  • Participates in rotational on-call support, maintenance activities, and other duties as determined by the team.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • 2+ years of Development Engineer experience – Tools (Visual Studio, VS Code, SSIS), Frameworks (.NET/C#, JavaScript, etc.) and best practices
  • 2+ years of experience as a .NET Developer using SQL
  • Understanding of SQL databases including querying, creating tables, and the basics of performance tuning such as creating indexes.
  • Experience with RESTful API design concepts with a strong preference for resource-centric design.
  • Understanding of API-First design principles, and familiarity with the Open API Specification (OAS/Swagger 2.0)
  • Experience with API Gateway and API Management concepts and platforms
  • Understanding of the authentication and authorization considerations related to data and integration (i.e. oAuth, JWT, least-privilege, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of integration types, frequency, and consistency considerations (i.e. real-time, near-real time, batch, eventual consistency, file-based, event-based, ETL/ELT, API, sFTP, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of SDLC and CI/CD experience – Tools, Frameworks, and best practices
  • 1-3 years of MS Azure (strongly preferred) or other cloud computing provider experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED;2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
  • Knowledge acquired through 2+ years of Development Engineer experience – Tools (Visual Studio, VS Code, SSIS), Frameworks (.NET/C#, JavaScript, etc.) and best practices.
