Business Analyst - Merchant Services Tech

Job Description:

Position Summary

The Merchant Service GPX (Falcon) Application Team is looking to hire a business analyst to help support all initiatives within the GPX Application space.  This generally covers any projects aimed at advancing the strategic software GPX Application responsible for merchant transaction processing. However, the role will generally concentrate on supporting bank processing such as release management to start.
This person will work closely with software development team that is responsible for building & maintaining our technical GPX Application leveraged by other teams within our organization, who are focused on building payment and integration applications.  The candidate will be responsible for agile program management, reporting, requirements, design, implementation, testing, and support of various projects ranging from 1 to 10 people in size.
Project types run the full spectrum for major reference data banking GPX Application technology teams including Regulatory, Internal and External Auditing, Non-Permitted Technology and Software Vulnerability Remediations, System and Processes Simplification programs, general SDLC for any new change to be implemented, System Advancement in line with Enterprise funded initiatives, etc.
Candidate will also assist with general “project 101” duties – requirements gathering, test script writing, QA/UAT testing new system capabilities, documentation writing, etc.
The ideal candidate is a passionate business analyst / project manager who enjoys working on technology projects and a team that operates like a small tech company within a large financial institution.

Works with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements, and then working closely with the Development Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team.
Possess a working knowledge of the business and/or technical domain based on their specialization.
Leverages experience and understanding of stakeholder needs to help create a solution, envisions the solution to solve a problem (manual or through software).
Performs Cost/Benefit Analysis to align the technology to business strategy. Gathers & catalogs functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests.
Determines the impact of modifications and enhancements on the application. Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions.
Ensures changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies.
Assists users and development team with application testing and troubleshooting, and may help configure test solutions to validate functional and system needs.
Identifies, document and troubleshoot application related problems.
Documents process, procedures and workflows associated with applications. Leads or participate in continuous improvement efforts;
Building expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes.
Creates, maintains and presents training materials for end-users.
Individual contributor.

Required Skills

7+ years of experience in business analysis and project management for major US based corporations (banking, payment transactions, merchant services, financial or global markets focused is a plus)
- 2+ Years of SQL Experience
- 3+ Years of Tech Pseudo Code/ Functional Processes and Analytical Skills
Detailed obsessed and well organized.
Strong verbal & written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoys a collaborative environment.
Works under direction but transitions easily to autonomous delivery, being able to run independently.
Experience in gathering and analyzing requirements.
Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
•               Previous experience with CTO duties.
•               Knowledge or experience with SDLC practices.
•               Knowledge or experience with Agile methodologies.
•               Business requirements documentation.

Desired Skills
