About the Role:

The Director of Equipment and DOT Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the fleet from equipment, drivers, and DOT compliance. They will also oversee the driver hiring process and promotion of open positions. Regular travel will be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage all DOT regulated equipment used by the fleet.

- Oversee and manage Fleet personnel at each location who manage the day-to-day operations.

- Oversee and audit all DOT compliance regulations with fleet management.

- Responsible for all driver hiring, including marketing of open positions, and driver retention.

- Liaison between fleet and operations to ensure all needs are met for the manufacturing facilities within the regulations of the law.

- Negotiate and manage all equipment leases.

- Regular driver meetings at each site


  • Safety and Equipment certifications required
  • 5 (five) or more years in DOT Safety and Compliance
  • Proven background in hiring professional drivers and driver retention
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong teamwork skills to work across multiple departments for a common goal
  • Ability to manage a large group and from a remote location
  • Act with integrity and honesty, avoiding actual or apparent conflicts of interest in personal and professional relationships.
  • Comply with rules and regulations of federal, state, provincial and local governments, and other appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, well organized, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
