Sr. Financial Analyst - Regional Finance (Open to Remote)


Basic Purpose:
The data analyst is responsible for participating in value added data analytics to facilitate operational and business efficiency in working with various functional leaders in a matrix organization. The successful candidate will be expected to incorporate multiple data sources to provide insights on financial and non financial metrics and key business drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities
•         Proactively use available tools, data and insights to identify opportunities and business risk.
•         Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests. Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports, and performs variance analysis
•         Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations. Provide support related to financial reporting and month end close processes
•         Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
•         Provides value added analysis related to Operations
o    Daily volume report and performance trends to identify risk to outlook/Budget and performance vs Prior year at Client, BU, Franchise and test level.
o    Productivity performance by department and function
o    Tracking payroll cost and FTE’s at the departmental level
o    Expense Trending and providing insights to help understand and improve performance Supply and Lab Sub performance analytics
o    Revenue and Volume/Price analytics
o    Analyze variance against labor and material cost standards
o    Cost per Test analysis
o    Provide insights on the drivers of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) trends and impact on the business.
•         Provides input for forecasts based on acquired business insights
•         All other duties as assigned

Job Specifications
•         Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or data analytics
•         MBA and/or CPA a plus
•         Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
•         Some professional accounting/finance experience desired

•         Ability to travel up to 20%

Knowledge, Skills Abilities: 

•         Proficiency with analytical tools (Access, Excel, Tableau), knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.
•         Database structure and programing knowledge (SQL)
•         Able to think analytically, conceptually, and systemically.  Able to synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research data, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate project decisions.
•         Possess strong general business acumen – understanding business financials and metrics. Ability to apply industry knowledge to evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data and make appropriate business recommendations.
