US Consumer Card Pricing Strategy Analyst

Job Description:

This position will have responsibilities for the development, execution and monitoring of USCC Acquisition Strategies for the Pricing Strategy. The analyst will use analytic tools to drive strategic and tactical recommendations through complex analysis that balances the risk reward tradeoff.

The position requires the ability to interact with and influence business partners both within and external to the department. It also requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently drive strategic improvements. 

Strong analytical skills are required with extensive experience manipulating large data sets using SAS which requires an ability to find, validate, and merge data from disparate data sources.  This position will handle many aspects of new account underwriting strategies which include but are not limited to:

-              Conducting analyses to segment acquisitions into pricing tiers in order to meet revenue and loss targets.

-              Present ideas, recommendations and project results to senior leadership team and business partners

-              Work with Technology and Operations to design and execute the strategy implementation

-              Monitor strategy performance for enhancements, read test/control results, and identify opportunities to continuously optimize underwriting criteria

Required Skills:

- Proven analytical ability as demonstrated through 5+ years related professional work experience

- 5+ years experience using database software and analytical/reporting tools, such as SAS, SQL, DB2 to access large relational databases

- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline

- Strong working knowledge of the process and tools used for development, validation, implementation and documentation of credit risk and/or marketing business strategies and scoring toolkits

- Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills

- A passion for learning and using data to derive trends, detect risks, and execute strategy projects

- Demonstrates a strong  understanding of credit risk strategies, financial drivers, and credit operations with proven problem solving skills

- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

- Must be a team player, creative, strategic, and be a thoughtful risk-taker

- Effective project management and organizational skills; ability to collaborate, manage, and expand relationships across the organization and with all levels of management

- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, or a related quantitative discipline

Desired Skills:

- Master's degree preferred

- Previous experience in developing credit risk strategies or models preferred

- Analytic work experience in support of consumer or small business lending in volving the use of credit bureau information
