Radiologic Technologist III (Part Time, Variable)

JOB SUMMARY

At NorthBay Healthcare the Radiologic Technologist  III will report to the Radiology Supervisor and will perform general radiographic studies, fluoroscopic studies, bedside radiography and CT Heads to established QA criteria.  Completes radiographs, print images, organizes patient data, completes required documentation and charges.  Responsible for patient safety and well being during examinations.  Assists and instructs patients during examinations.  Assists with clerical duties.  Reports all equipment malfunctions.  Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations in accordance to established protocols.
  • Performs Head CAT Scans in accordance to established protocols.
  • Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
  • Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
  • Responsible for patient safety and well being during examinations.
  • Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
  • Reports to radiology supervisor equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
  • Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to QA policies.
  • Responsible for completing images, duplicating images, organizing paperwork and completing documentation.
  • Works in other areas of department such as: front office, assisting in the transfer /transport of patients, etc.
  • Takes call or stand-by when required.
  • Organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety and the Department of Heath will be met or exceeded

Education: 

  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiology course.

Licensure/Certification: 

  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
  • California Fluoroscopic Permit
  • AHA or equivalent BLS Certification required

Experience: 

  • Minimum two years of experience in general radiology
  • Minimum one year of experience performing CAT Scan head exams

Skills: 

  • Basic clerical and computer experience.
