Hunter Ambulance Paramedic- Bronx, NY

New Pay Rates and $1,500 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time! Join a fast-paced EMS company. Seeking seasoned critical care paramedics for interfacility transfer dedicated posts. Starting rate is $27/hr. Salary is dependent on experience. No discharges, no routine runs. Only emergent/STAT transfers to higher level of care facility. Choose any three, 12-hour posts. Day shift or night shift. Shift assignments are immediate. Make your own schedule while shifts are still open. 7 Full-Time staff needed. Part-time is also available.

Job Summary
: Administers pre-hospital and inter-facility medical care for advanced life support transports.


Duties, Accountability and Responsibilities
:

  • Provides advanced life support as needed in compliance with state, local and company procedures
  • Drives vehicles in accordance with HUNTER AMBULANCE policies and procedures and all NYSDMV regulations
  • Operates communication system in compliance with this Manual
  • Performs pre-hospital duties in compliance with state & local protocols, as well as HUNTER AMBULANCE P&P
  • Maintains inventory of ambulance through the course of each shift, restocking supplies used at the end of shift
  • Performs daily vehicle inspection and DOH compliance inspection
  • Inspects all vehicles daily for any damage or repair needs
  • Ensures vehicle is stocked and sealed
  • Maintains patient care supplies and equipment in response-ready, clean, good working order
  • Conforms to dress code and personal hygiene standards
  • Provides high quality services in a courteous manner to every patient without regard to socioeconomic status, personality traits, disability, appearance, sexual preference, national origin, age, race, religion or sex
  • Conscientiously and with good will, speaks and acts in a manner that maintains the integrity of HUNTER AMBULANCE
  • Cooperates fully and courteously with other employees, supervisors, and senior leadership. Health care, and public safety personnel in the exercise of their duties\Respond to all calls quickly and in a safe and efficient manner
  • Accurately and legibly completes all paperwork required by HUNTER AMBULANCE
  • Actively participates in the safe delivery of patient care and maintains a safe environment for all of our patients
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Professionally establishes a positive rapport with each patient and the patients family ensuring a gentle and attentive patient encounter
  • Demonstrates adaptability as patient care needs change
  • Maintains flexibility with schedule changes
  • Maintains a clean ambulance (interior/exterior)
  • Performs other duties within scope of training as directed by Management

Physical Requirements:

  • Good manual dexterity and mobility with ability to perform all tasks related to highest quality patient care
  • Moderate physical labor
  • Push / pull or move / lift moderate to heavy equipment / stretcher
  • Ability to balance up to 125 pounds (250 with assistance)
  • Ability to do considerable bending, reaching, and kneeling

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to read road maps
  • Minor mechanical skills
  • Ability to calculate weight and volume ratios
  • Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions on all correspondence

Certification and Licensure:

  • Must possess a valid NYS EMT-P Certification
  • Must possess a valid AHA BCLS Card or equivalent CPR Card
  • Must possess a valid AHA ACLS Card
  • Must possess a valid AHA PALS Card
  • Must possess a valid NYC REMAC Certification
  • Valid NYS Driver’s license or NYS ID
