Wellness Manager - Full Time - The Landing


The overall purpose of this job is to manage the Wellness Department in an Immanuel Community to ensure that residents, members and employees have successful experiences that enhance their physical, spiritual and intellectual lives. The responsibilities of this job include planning, organizing, developing, directing and implementing wellness programs. Supports and lives out Immanuel's Mission and CHRIST Promises.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Wellness Management

  • Plans and implements innovative, cutting-edge wellness programs.
  • Researches and implements innovative and cutting-edge trends in wellness and exercise science while staying ahead of current wellness trends.
  • Develops and manages an ongoing wellness assessment process and safe operation of the exercise and wellness areas.
  • Develops, coordinates, instructs and evaluates wellness programs offered for residents and members.
  • Implements Employee Wellness programs and events, such as flu vaccination clinics, bio-metric screenings, walk, snack & learns, challenges, etc.
  • Shares resources, provides awareness education and other programming for residents, members and employees.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the areas within the Wellness Center.
  • Oversees onsite Community Care kiosk.
  • Where appropriate, oversees the aquatics program and maintenance of the pool.

Administration and Supervision

  • Locates and purchases supplies.
  • Keeps records of expenditures and stays within budget.
  • Attends meetings such as resident meetings, memory support meetings, managers' meetings.
  • Trains, supervises and evaluates work of wellness staff members and interns to ensure quality programs are carried out and standards are maintained.


  • Collaborates with the Life Enrichment department as appropriate.
  • Assists with special events as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.



  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field is required.


  • Two (2) years of wellness/fitness programming or related experience is required.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience with the senior population is preferred.
  • Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.

Other Requirements-

  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
  • Group Fitness Instructor certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification required or obtained within the first 30 days of hire.
  • First Aid education required or completed within the first 30 days of hire.

KSA- Knowledge Skills and Abilities-

  • Knowledge of planning while staying within a budget.
  • Knowledge of seniors' mental and physical abilities.
  • Knowledge of exercise science.
  • Skills in operating Microsoft Outlook and Office.
  • Skills in negotiating with speakers.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms, including speaking before groups.
  • Ability to effectively organize work, meetings, activities and timelines.
  • Ability to manage department and employees.
  • Ability to transport residents safely and securely.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to plan for future resident programming needs and challenges.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations.
Salary Range
$36,000.00 - 59,000.00
