IT Specialist

The Level I Service Desk Technician’s role is to ensure proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain SLA expectations. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and Pulseway ticketing system for tracking request, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor ticket tracking system and respond to incoming requests for help via all supported methods, during all assigned time periods, in accordance with company policies and departmental procedures.
  • Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
  • Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  • Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
  • Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
  • New user setup including AD accounts, M365, Workstation builds, printer support, access issues.
  • Troubleshooting issues pertaining to hardware, access, software, or network problems
  • Assist in all vendor relationship management tasks
  • Maintenance of Azure systems and perform routine maintenance such as patching
  • Ensure that internet security software is updated and running properly on all endpoints
  • Primarily responsible for our asset management program
  • Contribute to the maintenance, configuration, administration, and documentation of technology infrastructure, including computers and networks, standard applications, SaaS systems, and telecommunications
  • Test and implement new software programs for the company
  • Assist in various internal and external audits
  • Assists on special IT projects.
  • Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • 3 + years of experience as a Computer Technician or Desktop Support Specialist
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems
  • Understanding of Active Directory
  • Understanding of Office 365
  • Understanding of Telephony systems
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Communication proficiency
  • Current CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ certification (Preferred)
