Consolidations Accountant

Job Description:

The Consolidations Accountant is an energetic, driven individual looking to continue to develop his/her technical accounting skills in a large global public company corporate accounting function. The Accountant has general oversight of assigned processes within the Company's monthly and quarterly consolidation and reporting process, including the preparation of journal entries for global entities, preparation of financial statements and footnotes and key areas of group accounting (e.g. leases, business combinations, stock based compensation).

The position requires analytical thinking and review of financial records and transactional detail to prepare financial reports for internal and external distribution. The Consolidations Accountant reports to the Senior Manager – Consolidations.

  • Prepare consolidation and inter-company elimination entries on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Reconcile monthly and quarterly account balances to the general ledger

  • Assist in the calculations of key reserves

  • Prepare consolidated footnotes in accordance with US GAAP for preparation of 10-Qs and 10-Ks filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission

  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for use by multiple levels of management, including gathering information and communicating with other departments

  • Perform key internal controls activities for compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

  • Develop working relationship with internal and external auditors and facilitate the production of audit support for significant processes and accounts during interim reviews and annual audits

  • Assist with the optimization of consolidation, elimination, and reporting procedures, including reducing the time to close and report results

  • Assist in research and application of technical accounting as requested

  • Train, develop and motivate new staff to ensure continuity of knowledge within the group accounting team


  • 5+ years in public and/or industry accounting

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred

  • Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting

  • CPA preferred

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required with an attention to detail to collect, monitor, and analyze data

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to report to all levels of management

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic work environment

  • Fast learner and excellent computer skills to complete daily tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

  • Team player with flexibility to shift priorities to meet department deadlines

  • Approaches all responsibilities with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to set high standards for the department and to produce high quality work products
