Job Summary The Cable HQ Financial Planning & Analysis team works closely with the Strategic Development (SD) organization to understand key business initiatives and to ensure investments are aligned with overall Comcast objectives. The team is seeking a highly motivated, analytical thinker with a desire to work closely with various partners across the SD organization. The Senior Manager, Strategic Planning will be responsible for managing the financial planning process and budgeting/forecasting profitability of existing and new business operations. This role will have a greater degree of impact on business results and will have management responsibilities for one Senior Analyst.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive analysis of actual results against planned objectives and presents data in a logical and clear format so that management can develop action plans. Manages the preparation of presentations to management on actual results, budget, forecast, and LRP.
Oversees tracking of activity related to revenue, operating expenditures, capital, and headcount across all SD initiatives to ensure overall financials are appropriately reflected and that company resources are properly allocated to help drive future growth.
Serves as a key partner and maintains productive working relationships with various SD stakeholders as well as other HQ Finance & Accounting organizations (e.g., National Accounting Organization, Procurement, Supply Chain, FP&A etc.). Serves as a technical liaison to these teams by providing financial planning experience, financial information and modeling expertise, and variance analysis.
Presents final work product to senior SD and Finance leadership on a monthly basis
Leads process improvement initiatives and business metrics development. Consistently identifies opportunities to provide enhanced insights and additional value to SD partners and Finance leadership.
Supervises, coaches, develops and prioritizes the workflow for Senior Financial Analyst.
Consistent exercise of personal judgment and discretion in matters of significance, and a willingness to tackle challenges and circumvent roadblocks independently.
