NOW HIRING: Administrative Assistant I – Customer Service

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Customer Service or designee, the Administrative Assistant I is responsible for answering phones and greeting customers in a professional manner, performing administrative duties and providing clerical support as assigned.

This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.

Duties Include:

  • This position interacts with the public in person, by phone and by email; they will respond to questions and requests for information or public records, answer incoming calls, etc. Identifying and assessing customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction. Handle difficult and dissatisfied customers with professional, polite and appropriate interactions.
  • Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities.
  • This role provides administrative and clerical support including scheduling, mailing, scanning, faxing and copying; opening, sorting and distributing incoming correspondence, and create standardized letters, notices and mass mailings.
  • This role adheres to ethical and confidential principles in the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of data and information. Maintains, updates, and uses computerized data management systems. Collaborates in the development of and provides clerical/technical and administrative support to quality improvement activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, customer service skills with the ability to learn new information quickly
  • Experience in a medical setting or public health setting strongly preferred

Hiring Salary: $18.00/hour - $20.70/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
