Accounts Receivable Clerk


International Grains and Cereal (IGC), part of the Empresas Polar group, specializes in producing yellow, white, and sweet corn flour. Our internationally recognized brand, P.A.N. Corn Meal, can be found today in over 60 countries. We buy domestic corn from local farmers, mill the corn in our plant, and ship the finished products domestically and internationally. The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the Accounting department by preparing, verifying, and entering customer payments and information into the system. The AR Clerk is also responsible for filing and maintaining the Accounting department’s documents.


  • Prepare, verify, and enter customer payments into the system.
  • Reconcile payment information received from customers or the Sales department and enter that information into SAP.
  • Enter approved credit notes into SAP.
  • Receive, send, and organize correspondence in order to maintain control of the information that enters and leaves the department.
  • Perform reconciliations of accounting statements, identifying discrepancies and providing that information to other members of the Accounting team.
  • Contact customers by phone to verify information or collect data regarding their accounts.
  • Maintain and organize the Accounting department’s files in order to guarantee that documents are organized and may be accessed in a timely manner.
  • Control, distribute, and keep a record of the incoming and outgoing Accounting documents.
  • Enter and consolidate the “Credit Notes for Sales Activities” file.
  • Comply with the department’s policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Ensure that sales order received match the order information in SAP.
  • Ensure that product pricing and SKUs in EDI (customer sales platform) match the order information listed in SAP.
  • Create sales orders in SAP.
  • Prepare and send daily reports to the Sales team.


  • High School Diploma.
  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to perform work with attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and sense of urgency.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
