Manufacturing Supervisor

SUMMARY

Provides supervision, on-going training and direction to employees; helps develop and maintain the department culture in a manner that presents a friendly and service minded image to all departments. Ensures that production is operating at maximum attainable efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

Direct and supervise the efforts of all manufacturing employees.

Train employees and monitor their work to ensure they have obtained a proper understanding

of their duties.

Direct employees and the workload to ensure maximum productivity is obtained.

Ensure process specifications and documentation are followed at all times.

Work closely with other functional areas to identify areas where process improvements can be

made.

Troubleshoot process problems, direct manpower needs to each problem.

Evaluate employee performance.

Maintain positive employee morale and employee relations.

Maintain accurate records on employees (payroll, attendance, productivity).

Enforce and follow all company policies and procedures.

Maintain safety standards and follow all safety procedures. Investigate all work-related injuries

complete appropriate forms.

Encourage involvement and participation in continuous improvement activities.

Cooperate and communicate with other manufacturing supervisors and supervisors in all

departments to assure smooth operations and that all goals are being met.

Direct/supervise efforts of all manufacturing employees.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Troubleshooting ability of equipment and processes

Strong supervisory skills and ability to mentor and coach subordinates.

Basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple people, tasks and deadlines.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Oracle

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Excellent technical knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Minimum of five years of technical experience in a high volume Printed Circuit Fab or

manufacturing of prepress and laminate environment.

Minimum of five years supervisory experience.

BS degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The work environment is fast paced. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have the ability to stand; walk; sit, talk, and hear. Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and have the physical ability to push carts, lift product, steel plates, and finished product including preparation and handling of boxes for shipping. At times, it will be necessary for the production supervisor to assist production employees with their work in the production area.

EQUIPMENT USED FOR THE JOB

Facsimile machine, computer, phone, copy machine, micrometers, calipers, and small hand tools.

WORK SCHEDULE

May vary depending on projects and tasks assigned. Will assist in providing coverage for other shifts as scheduled.

OTHER

Must successfully pass post-employment offer drug testing and physical.

Subject to drug/alcohol testing when there is reasonable suspicion.

Must report to work on-time daily as scheduled.

Must be flexible (hours and work)

Must be willing to travel (occasionally).

Must abide by all policies and procedures of the Company.
