Job Purpose
Hawaiian Telcom provides installation, service delivery, and maintenance of telecommunication services (voice, data, and video) through its network infrastructure. This position is responsible for the overall success of critical Company projects that build this network infrastructure. The Project Manager interacts with internal personnel, vendors, and subcontractors engaged in the planning, engineering, and installation of the network build to assure the projects are on time and within budget.
Essential Functions

  • Managing multiple departments, vendors, and contractors to meet project deadlines and other project deliverables. Includes the facilitation and documentation of project focused meetings, development, and maintenance of project schedules, and the monitoring of manpower and material availability.
  • Tracks and monitors tasks associated with the project and provides periodic project status reports to various levels of management and takes appropriate action to resolve any jeopardies and mitigate risks.
  • Interfaces with Customers as their point of contact to Hawaiian Telcom to assure clear and timely communication occurs; customer expectations are being focused upon, and any concerns are being properly addressed.
  • Provides support in reviewing; developing and establishing policies and procedures that affect the Customer Service organization.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Minimum four (4) years' work experience in Network Planning, Engineering or other related field of telecommunications or any combination of equivalent work experience
  • Project Management experience required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated creative and operational skills desired

Education

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor-s Degree or equivalent

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficient experience in the use of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated work experience in project and task management proficiency with the ability to prioritize and execute accordingly.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Ability to identify, investigates, and resolve conflicts quickly and effectively.

Work Environment

  • May require working alone.
  • Work may be performed in an enclosed area lacking windows.
  • May require late hours and weekends to complete assignments and projects.
  • Indoor work - Exposed to indoor conditions, dust, noise, dirt, heat, various lighting conditions, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires standing, sitting, lifting/carrying supplies and training materials up to 40 lbs,
  • Requires reading paper documentation and electronic communications so typing and writing are required.
  • May require traveling to various locations under varying conditions and to company branches and departments throughout the State of Hawaii in a timely manner so must possess a valid Hawaii State Driver's License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
