Load Supervisor - Sterling Heights, MI

We are looking for a Load Supervisor to join the team and be integral in the startup of a new terminal.

The Load Supervisor will provide yard transportation and support the processes to satisfy new and current customer demands by providing the safe securement of vehicles for transport to dealers and customers. Load Supervisor will ensure vehicles are safely loaded onto a transport truck, assist drivers with achieving damage-free deliveries to designated dealerships, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to the trucking operation. The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, reliable, and ethical. In addition, this individual should be punctual, professional and possess excellent communications and people skills.

Responsibilities:

· Shuttle drivers to their vehicles and assist drivers with expedient loading operations.

· Establish relationships with drivers, convey company performance objectives and monitoring overall driver performance.

· Ensure driver compliance with all company and customer policies, procedures, and work rules as well as act as a liaison for drivers for other departments.

· Provide accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick-up/delivery times and other special load related information.

· Accurately input load and driver related information into the system.

· Perform daily load audits and record any defects or damages on vehicle inspection reports.

· Review and sign off on driver load prior to driver exiting the facility.

· Understand DOT compliance, including hours of service violations, daily log completion, reporting of all road-side inspection violations, etc.

· Report improper or unsafe employee actions immediately to prevent injury and or conflict.

· Ensure that all drivers and staff are following required safety practices.

· Support terminal management and corporate executives to ensure overall quality policies and business goals are met.

The Load Supervisor position is an hourly, non-exempt position and may require candidate to work various hours, weekends, holidays and travel periodically when necessary. This position will require the candidate to be outside and working with the drivers during all weather conditions. This position requires a state issued driver’s license in good standing.
