Typical working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 - 4:00 Friday 8:00 – 12noon with occasional weekend and after-hours events and responsibilities.

The Support Services Manager ensures tenants live in safe and decent affordable housing and receive the supportive services that are needed. This position must be committed to working toward the goal of helping tenants obtain and maintain housing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Assures quality customer relations with tenants, outside agencies and the public via phone and in person resolving questions, concerns, and complaints.
  • Ensures compliance with FHLBD, HOPWA, JRC REACH and HUD Rules/Regulations and works cooperatively with HUD, JRC board, MDMH, FHLB, MS Home Corp, city and county staff.
  • Processes completed applications according to guidelines.
  • Maintains and purges waiting lists according to guidelines. (Admin Asst. with you as backup)
  • Processes all REACH and PSH required reports, in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and update REACH documents, including but not limited to Policies and Procedures, grant guidelines and tenant eligibility.
  • Ensure kitchen, common areas and partner areas are up to date, orderly and clean. Assign staff or volunteers to those areas if they aren’t.
  • Coordinates move-in process with prospective tenant, case manager/service provider, when applicable; orientates tenant to unit, building and neighborhood upon move in.
  • Completes all move-in documentation including but not limited to lease, addendums, backup documentation and income verifications.
  • Meets weekly with Executive Director and onsite staff to discuss tenant and building issues and praises.
  • Overall coordination of services at REACH, including activities of the service partners.
  • Conducts initial tenant orientations & Provides information and referral to tenants.
  • Works with site staff, tenants, and service providers to identify tenant service needs.
  • Coordinates schedules, community/service space, volunteers, and personnel for third party service providers.
  • Update Executive Director of all major changes, events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Courteous and professional individual who can work with individuals from all walks of life.
  • Experience working with the homeless, mental health and/or substance abuse populations a plus.
  • Respectful of boundaries with the residents. While we encourage staff to be personable and welcoming with residents, they should remember that they are there to enforce the building rules and are required to keep a professional distance to avoid conflicts or favoritism towards certain residents.
  • Problem-solver who pays attention to detail; enjoys multi-tasking.
  • Ability to learn the phone, incident reporting and intercom system
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Being knowledgeable of Jackson Resource Center REACH programs and properties, including appropriate contacts. (candidate will be trained)
  • Being familiar with and enforcing all Jackson Resource Center REACH policies and the policies of the building. (candidate will be trained)
