Help Desk Document Writer/ Editor

We are hiring for an onsite Technical Writer to create, edit and maintain technical documentation, user guides and web pages for a help desk environment at Social Security Administration; supporting SSA headquarters personnel and users dedicated to developing, testing, validating, and maintaining SSA’s programmatic and administrative application software systems.

In support of the task, the contractor shall perform the activities described in the sections below:

Must be able to acquire a Public Trust clearance.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, and Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline

Requires a minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a field that is directly related in editing documents, web and graphics development.

Covid vaccination is required.


  • Researches, writes, and edits materials for related reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instructional material, catalogs, technical publications, and/or software and hardware documentation.
  • Manages and performs maintenance activities including updating information and continual education to stay up-to-date with latest graphics/ web development technology.
  • Interfaces with users, specialists, analysts, programmers, etc., to obtain background information of technologies, methods, and standards. May interact with project manager and clients for prototyping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
