Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company. The major areas directed are: recruiting and staffing; performance managementand improvement systems; organization development; employment and compliance to regulatory concerns; employee orientation, development, relations, safety, wellness, and training; company employee and community communication; and compensation and benefits administration.

The Human Resources Manager originates and leads practices/objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culturethat emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This position reports to the President of Vets Plus and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Coordination of compliance with federal and state personnel matters
  • Coordination and monitoring of recruiting and interviewing processes
  • Orientation and onboarding of new employees
  • Administration of employee compensation and benefit management
  • Administration and record keeping of safety in the workforce by knowing/following federal/state guidelines
  • Coordination with department managers to assist them on personnel matters, including but not limited to: hiring process, training, annual reviews, performance counseling, disciplinaries, conflict mediation, exit interviews, and terminations.
  • Administration of employee record keeping
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Education and Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior)

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in human resources
  • Minimum of three years HR administrative experience, supervisory experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, transparency, ethical conduct, and reliability
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work proficiently with little supervision.
  • Solid computer skills.


Working conditions are normal for an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

This is a salaried position. Benefits include medical/dental/vision/disability/life insurance plus 401(k) with company match. Raises are based solely on merit – not one size fits all – and can be substantial and accelerated as merited.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
