Construction Assistant Project Manager

Keller Brothers provides general contracting services to clients and serves as an umbrella for two distinct service divisions: Keller Construction Management and Keller Construction Services.


We are seeking an experienced Construction Assistant Project Manager to support and assist our Construction Team(s) with project administration.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with planning, directing, and coordinating, daily construction activities.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with the following:

  • Ensuring the timely processing and execution of all Project Reporting including Request For Information Logs, Submittal Logs, Task Tracking Logs, Change Management Logs, Progress Reports, Meeting Minutes, and various other Project specific documentation tracking tools.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical proposals, contract packages, budgets, research, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, change orders, closeout documents, invoices, billings, etc. as necessary
  • Preparing the Bi-Weekly Owner’s Progress Meeting Project Status Reports
  • Participating in weekly Trade Contractor Coordination Meetings as necessary
  • Ensuring compliance of work with the contract documents, project schedules, and specifications
  • Overseeing the sequence of construction and working with the Superintendent with regard to changes to the sequence of construction
  • Resolving scope of work disputes and track field time relative to change management
  • Knowing the status of the Project and being prepared to answer questions concerning the Project with confidence
  • Coordinating and scheduling of trade contractors; material/equipment deliveries, and the progress of the Project.
  • Assisting in ensuring that duties assigned to others are being completed and that these duties are examined for exactness, neatness, and conformance to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and updating work activity reports provided by the Superintendent with regard to work activities that should have occurred but did not occur and/or work activities that should have started but did not start.
  • Aiding in business development and client relations by keeping the Project Site clean, safe and organized
  • Completing the project within the given budget and timeframe
  • Providing input on new and innovative ways to approach the needs of the company
  • Understanding client needs and achieve an acceptable level of satisfaction
  • Studying and presenting standardization ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company
  • Other duties as assigned by senior staff

Qualifications and Skills:

The qualified applicant should have the following:

  • 5 years of construction experience, government/municipal projects preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of Assistant Project Manager experience
  • College level education is preferred, but not required
  • Provide daily support to Project Manager and multiple Superintendents
  • Be proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
  • Be proficient with Adobe Acrobat
  • Be proficient with web based information sharing programs such as Newforma, ProCore, DropBox, etc.
  • Be able to review and determine completeness/correctness of shop drawings and submittals
  • Be able to perform material take-offs
  • LEED accreditation desired
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be extremely well organized and punctual
  • Be able to attend jobsite meetings and represent our firm professionally
  • Daily communication with project teams, owners and design teams
  • Full time position – must be able to work 40+ hours per week
