Warehouse Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor

The Receiving/Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating department work activities and supervising the Receiving Department employees. This position will ensure receipt and disposition of merchandise and inventory including processing paperwork, verifying merchandise, comparing receipts against purchase orders and checking for damaged products/concealed shortages. Position also makes sure policies and procedures are followed within the department.


· Maintains the operations of the receiving department, including matching received inventory against purchase orders and reviewing discrepancies in received inventory.

· Processes inbound shipments and manages returns to ensure all receiving paperwork is complete and accurate.

· Separates pallets and verifies that pallets are in the correct shipment lanes.

· Supervises Receivers and acts as a mentor to team members in the department.

· Assesses team members performance, trains and develops team members and monitors the workload throughout the day.

· Administer coaching for behavior and performance concerns for improvement.

· Completes receiving documents and other reports.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Previous experience managing inventory or receiving employees is required

· Previous experience driving a forklift is required

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls

· Must occasionally lift up to 70 pounds (lifting devices and help from co-workers is available)

· Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision; distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision

· Reliable attendance record

· Must be available and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to satisfy customer needs


· Majority of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine or scan product, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.

· Continuously requires lifting objects between 50 to 70 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.

· Working environment is surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment.

The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
