Job Description/Responsibilities :

The Customer Service Representative is a core member of the Lending Team who reports directly to the Customer Service Specialist, whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Answer incoming phone calls to Good Fund’s direct line; transfer and route calls to the intended recipient, take messages, or redirect the caller. Answer incoming online messages through our chat service portal Report messages accurately on our CRM software, notifying the appropriate team member(s). Respond to incoming emails for the Loan Origination team’s shared email. Download and sort incoming client documentation; notify the appropriate team member(s). Documents may be received in person or via email. Practice responsible document or information sharing processes to ensure the privacy and security of our clients Provide prompt, friendly, courteous and empathetic customer service, to clients interested in lending services and redirect coaching or servicing questions as needed Pre-screen interested clients for eligibility, advise on next steps and guide them through the lending process Be an excellent representative of Good Fund - our mission, products, and community Sit at reception, greet and communicate with all clients who walk-in to the Providence office Other administrative tasks as needed

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment

  • Strong organization skills

Strong communication skills Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish/English in an verbal and written format Able to connect and empathize with people of diverse backgrounds Comfortable communicating with clients who may be under pressure or are experiencing high levels of difficulty. Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and take initiative; especially in a work-from-home environment Ability to work as part of a team with shared tasks and responsibilities Must be prompt and have keen attention to timeliness and responsiveness

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and financial services
  • Flexibility; willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with Google Suite

This position is in-person in the Providence, RI office Monday through Friday. This role follows all COVID-19 policies for public health and safety measures, including terms and conditions of employment. Masks are required in all shared spaces, and one will be provided at no cost to you.

This position requires tasks that involve lifting/carrying supplies such as laptops or files; walking (including stairs), standing, and sitting for lengths of time.

This position provides the ability to work a flexible schedule with some in office days and some remote days as necessary per supervisor or department head discretion.

Training and Compensation
The Customer Service Representative will receive extensive training on all of Good Fund’s systems, policies, procedures and loan products.

This is a full time forty hour-per-week position. The Customer Service Representative will earn an annual salary of $41,000.

In addition, the Customer Service Representative will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with dollar-for-dollar employer match of 3% of gross earnings with a minimum contribution of 1%, medical insurance with a $350/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer, 5 paid personal days per benefit year, 15 paid vacation days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.
