Job Summary:

The Production Operations position is responsible for operating the production line to achieve the most favorable production cost, quality, safety and workmanship. These positions operate in a changing environment and require workers to be able to manage their own time, work without direct supervision, be able to “think on their feet”, assess changing situations, and manage multiple tasks at one time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assure compliance of company safety rules. Report hazardous equipment or procedures. Recommend improvements to maintain an accident free work area
  • Participate in work of the shift crew by implementing the production plan and documenting events and results.
  • Make recommendations on process changes required. Implement changes as instructed/agreed upon.
  • Insure that product quality is maintained by sampling, monitoring results, and taking corrective action as required.
  • Maintain a record of production data by roll.
  • Maintain a log of upsets, problems, and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude – Basic computer skills (data entry and retrieval) – Strong verbal communication skills
  • Logical thinking/reasoning skills – Self confident
  • Ability to work as member of a work team in the effective operation of complex machinery and in a safe manner
  • Basic math skills, i.e. calculating whole numbers, metrics, decimals and fractions.
  • Mechanical aptitude highly desired.
  • Prior manufacturing experience a plus
  • Strong verbal communications skills.
  • Requires the use of ordinary arithmetic, specifications, charts, schedules together with gauges, adjustable instruments and the like to perform and operate the line, change spinning packs, operate winder equivalent to high school with industrial arts training.
  • Requires the use of judgment to identify various levels of product quality, to operate equipment, to detect processing defects, to clean and change spinning packs and other related functions within the limitations of recognized standards and proceduresMiscellaneous Details:

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
