Our firm is built upon the 139-year history of excellence in global family office and investment management of the Rockefeller family.PositionThe Trading & Reporting Specialist supports both the Asset Management team and Relationship Management team at Merlin Wealth Management. The position will handle trading flows on the 3 proprietary equity strategies in an SMA focused business with total AUM of roughly $1.8 billion. Trading flows are generated on the portfolio management side (portfolio repositioning & risk management) and the client side (cash additions, withdrawals, account opening and closing transactions) with rebalancing as needed to minimize the return dispersions against the reference portfolio given differing SMA account sizes. The position also encompasses performance reporting both for the composites for the equity and fixed income strategies, as well as for individual clients using the firm’s performance reporting software (Addepar). The role involves coordination and communication with the Rockefeller Technology team to help drive improvements to the trading software over time. Lastly, the position is responsible for working closely with the financial advisors in running financial plans for clients.Responsibilities
  • Execute trades across the 3 equity strategies in a timely manner and at best available pricing as directed by senior portfolio managers, while emphasizing accuracy and controlling operational risks
  • Execute client level account trades for clients due to cash additions, withdrawals, account opening and closing as directed by Relationship Management and our Service team.
  • Periodically check dispersion of the strategies across client accounts and rebalance as needed to minimize dispersion and balance against the competing goal of minimizing trading activity.
  • Maintain accurate performance reporting for the proprietary strategies both in the composites and at the representative account level while maintaining compliance with the GIPS standards.
  • Execute client level reporting using the firm’s reporting software (Addepar).
  • Build financial plans for clients in conjunction with the financial advisors using the firm’s financial planning software (eMoney)
  • Maintain high standard of communication across the Asset Management, Relationship Management and Client Service.
  • Offering trading related input to position selection and management as a member of the Asset Management team
  • Contribute to the fundamental investment research process as needed/desired
  • Maintain appropriate manuals and records to help ensure regulatory and GIPS compliance standards are met over time.
  • Ensure proper training and documentation to allow for a backup trader to function effectively as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Licenses: Series 7 & Series 66 required, with some time to achieve post hiring
  • Preferred 1-3 years of financial services experience including some trading experience.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • CFA and certificate in performance measurement desirable. The firm can support achieving this post hire.
