Sales Consultant


A successful Design Consultant will be: self-motivated, enthusiastic, technologically current, and design conscious. A seller who values the relationship, builds rapport, and effectively manages consistent and continued dialogue with the client. In depth knowledge of our product and our competitor’s products is vital for the success in the position.

The designs offered can include space planning, fabric selection and advice, product selection and overall project design. Uniqueness, confidence, knowledge and intelligence will affect the success of each opportunity.

Job Description _ Design/Sales Consultant-_

Hours of Operation.

Design/Sale Consultants are expected to be ready, willing and able to serve customers efficiently at any time. Hours of operation vary by location, please review your local operating hours with the supervisor. It is expected from all Design Consultants to be at the store 15 prior to opening hour, during this time it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the cleanliness of the store and work stations.

Job Requirements

  • Sell appropriate and accurate solutions to clients .
  • Reach or exceed sales targets each and every month.
  • Regularly visit client’s homes to further design and appropriate the design quote.
  • Professionally greet customers to establish rapport and obtain appointments and in-home consultations.
  • Effectively use the Point of Sale System. This includes sales, deposits and invoicing.
  • Effectively track sales and leads and follow the recommended CRM software.
  • Educate customers about the complimentary design service we provide and utilizing the appropriate levels as dictated by the client.
  • Manage database with intensity and effectiveness.
  • Constant updating of the backlog, container lists and sales folders
  • Stay current on design, color, and fashion trends to provide the most up-to -date design concepts.
  • Stay well informed about all new products and variants from our brand.
  • Provide exceptional customers service to customers for the duration of the sale.
  • Follow in all corporate marketing and training programs.
  • Capitalize on every lead opportunity in and out of store.

Dress Code / Appearance

One of the most visible and important areas is the personal appearance of our Sale Associates. Neatness, cleanliness and appropriate dress attire are vital for our success of the stores. The impressions created by our staff help create our image, and create a positive impression with customers. If Sales Associates have questions as to what is appropriate or not, we encourage them to consult their supervisor or refer to the European Designs Dress Code Policy.


All internal business affairs of the Company should not be discussed with anyone outside the organization except as may be required in the normal course of business. Information designated as confidential is to be discussed with no one outside the organization and only discussed within the organization on a “need to know” basis.

All employees are to avoid unwarranted disclosure of confidential information about the company, its costumers and its suppliers. This restraint is not intended to impede normal business communications and relationships, but is intended to alert employees to their obligation to use discretion to safeguard internal company affairs. Employees who have authorized access to confidential information are responsible for its security.

Sick Days

All Designs Consultants are eligible for five (5) days of paid sick leave per calendar year. Paid sick leave is available in case of actual illness or injury to the employee and/or care of the employee’s spouse, child, parent or domestic partner (as defined under applicable law) who is suffering from an actual illness or injury. It is not an entitlement to a free day off. Requests for sick leave must be approved a day in advance by your manager. In case of an emergency you should contact immediately your manager to inform them about your particular situation. Sick leave may not be accumulated and does not carry over year to year.

European Designs reserves the right to request a verification from a licensed health care provider for any absence (whether paid or unpaid) due to illness or disability. Sick pay may be withheld if a satisfactory verification is not provided.

Personal Phone Calls and Personal Business

During business hours, you are requested to keep personal calls to an absolute minimum. No long distance or toll calls such as directory assistance, other than Company business calls are to made from company telephones. If it is absolutely necessary that you make a toll call from work, you must charge it to your personal calling card or home number. Telephone records are subject to periodic review by management.

Internet Code of Conduct

Access to the Internet has been provided to Design Consultants for the benefit of the organization and its clients. Every staff member has the responsibility to maintain and enhance the Company’s public image, and to use the Internet in a productive manner. All communications should be for professional reasons, employees are responsible for seeing that the internet is used in an effective, ethical and lawful manner. The internet should not be used for personal gain or advancement of individual views. Solicitation of non-company business, or any use of the Internet for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
