We operate high end “glamping” resorts though luxury canvas tents with beautiful décor and amenities. We focus on delivering authentic, local experiences for our guests with service on the level of what you would find at a 5-star hotel. Our properties offer a wide variety of activities for our guests, both created by our staff and in combination with local activity providers.

Collective Retreats is a premium hospitality brand with a strong reputation for quality. We currently operate 2 locations, with a 3rd soon to open, and have 5-star ratings on Tripadvisor.

Overview: The Role

We are seeking a high energy Jr. Accountant with the potential to grow with the Company. This person will be responsible for handling a number of tactical functions including: vendor invoice processing and payments, revenue reconciliation, expense report and credit card accounting, payroll processing and new hire payroll on-boarding.

The ideal candidate is analytical and experienced with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel. S/he has excellent quantitative skills and is results oriented, highly organized and dependable, approachable, self-motivated, and passionate about the work. Ideally, s/he is also passionate about travel, experiences, and what we’re building. S/he will be expected to work directly with the existing team in order to successfully accomplish his/her work efficiently and effectively. A roll-up-his/her-sleeves and “get it done” professional, the right candidate is results focused.

You should have direct, hands-on experience in accounting, payroll and other bookkeeping related functions. Like our team, you should be customer- and brand-focused and naturally curious about new ways to help grow our new business and make our systems more efficient over time.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the processing of all Accounts Payable, including both regular and sporadic invoices from vendors and/or contractors,

- Manage the processing of all Accounts Receivable invoicing and tracking,

- Receive, process and track all expense reports,

- Run all payroll, on a bi-monthly process, and process reports needed by management,

- Assist the Operations team with any other tactical activities and reports on an as needed basis,

- Run and/or support on various analytics and reporting needs (both at the company and retreat-specific levels).

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Must have a passion for what we are building, the brand, and the guest experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with strong academic performance

- 2+ years previous experience as a bookkeeper, accountant and/or Accounts Payable associate

- Significant experience with Excel, Quickbooks and Google tools is mandatory. Experience with online software, including Expensify.com, Bill.com, online PMS systems and online timesheet applications is highly desirable

- Passion for numbers with strong analytical skills -- at home among dashboards

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, highly organized, exceptional attention to detail, strong and proven project management capabilities and ability to multi-task

- Highly organized and self-motivated with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

- Past experience in a new business or startup is highly desired. Strong interest in building a company (including new processes and systems) from the ground up. Comfortable managing through ambiguity and working with limited data

- Able to work remotely when necessary and willingness to travel

- Hard-working team player with a positive, can-do attitude. Flexible and willing to work long and sometimes erratic hours
