International Tax Manager


Overview of role:

International Tax Manager – Ideal candidate has 2 to 4 years experience with exposure to international tax issues, strong research skills, proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint Word), team player and strong interpersonal skills.


Tax Compliance

  • Responsible for preparation and or review of US based international compliance (5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 926, and 1118) including review of tax returns and related workpapers.
  • Assist VP International Tax in providing information and guidance as necessary for international income tax reporting and compliance and other recurring activities.
  • Oversee maintenance of international tax reporting and compliance calendar(s) and international tax contacts (employees and outside advisors).
  • Monitor compliance with foreign withholding and tax payments.

Tax Planning

  • Research and analyze US tax consequences of international operations such as potential Subpart F income and other technical tax issues.
  • Transfer pricing – oversee process, ensure preparation and maintenance of proper documentation.
  • Maintain current and cumulative E&P calculations with related tax pools and forecasts.
  • Assist VP to coordinate and review cost saving strategies with outside consultants and subject matter experts within the company. Prepare exposure and benefit analysis as needed.
  • Assist with foreign tax credit planning and preservation of credits.
  • Coordinate the provision of tax advice to foreign businesses.

Tax Accounting and Audit

  • Prepare income tax accounting and financial statement disclosures related to international operations as required by ASC 740 and any other informational filings.
  • Work with VP Income Tax Accounting and VP Tax for international related tax to accrual adjustments.
  • Monitor internal controls and policies for international income tax accounting and manage documentation requirement pursuant to Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Update and maintain Corporate Tax policy as it applies to international business units.

Tax Controversy

  • Keep track of international tax audits by liaising with local tax managers and consultants.
  • Assist with Internal Revenue Service Examination related to international portions.


  • Communicate and work with overseas tax team to guide tax compliance and obtain information for non-U.S. entities.
  • Establish steps, responsibilities and timelines for all international projects and compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with other departments and outside advisors.

Technical/Functional Competencies

  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Technical proficiency in Federal and multi-state tax research.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations dealing with US international tax.
  • Familiarity with One Source tax compliance software.
  • Knowledge of computerized systems (HFM, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of ASC 740 accounting for income taxes.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Key Experiences/Achievements

  • Two to four years of corporate and public accounting tax experience.
  • Exposure to international tax compliance and planning (Form 5471, Form 5472, Form 1042, Form 8858, and Form 8802) and foreign tax credit calculations (Form 1118).
  • Exposure to federal, state, and local income taxation of corporate and partnership entities as well as exposure to consolidated federal and combined state income tax returns.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Licensed CPA.
  • Experience in the Media and Entertainment preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Taxation, preferred.
  • Big Four background a plus.
