A boutique tax services firm is seeking a detail oriented, collaborative, and efficient professional to join our growing team. The potential employee needs to have strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues. The potential employee needs to be able to prepare tax returns (individual, corporate, estate, trusts, and gift) with little oversight using CCH Prosystem FX. The potential employee also needs to have and understanding of accounting concept in order to help clients with bookkeeping, payroll taxes, and preparing financial statements. Our firm handles many types of clients that include wealth management, educators, and international taxpayers

Salary

$65,000 (*based on experience)

The position will provide you with significant opportunity to take on exciting professional challenges including:

  • Unique tax engagements, including advanced, comprehensive tax and wealth planning assignments. The tax and accounting group is part of a comprehensive wealth management firm.
  • Designing, planning and implementing new protocol and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The Opportunity: Tax Professional

You will be working closely with the owner of the firm to prepare complex tax returns, and to complete high-level tax planning. You will work with the owner to complete high net worth tax returns.

Essential Qualifications to Excel in This Position:

  • Perform monthly reconciliations for QuickBooks clients
  • Perform quarterly financials for QuickBooks clients
  • Prepare Income Tax Returns that include individuals, estates, trusts, gifts, partnerships, S-corporations, and Corporations (Minimum of 3-5 years tax prep)
  • Be able to use Adobe and other technology to prepare paperless work papers
  • Use knowledge of Accounting and Audit standards to document work papers
  • Be able to review financial records and prepare tax strategies to meet the client’s needs
  • Be able to communicate with clients the documents needed in order to finish a project
  • Manage multiple assignments, some with short time frames
  • Detailed knowledge of tax law, codes, regulations for both Federal and State
  • Possess ability to make sound judgement and decision making skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other accepted accounting practice(s)
  • Be detail oriented, ability to ask questions, team player
  • Ability to prepare and understand tax plans for clients
  • Be able to explain the tax laws, tax plans, or advise on a professional level
  • Be Self Motivated, critical thinker, and problem solver
