Key Account Executive (NY Area)

The Key Account Executive an integral member of the Rockport sales team and will manage, sell to, and service our Macy's business and other key accounts for the Rockport brand.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieve sales, profitability and booking goals by quarter and business unit as defined by the Head of Sales, Key Accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships at the President, GM, DM, and Buyer level as well as with all internal partners
  • Drive, implement, and follow through on seasonal marketing initiatives and manage to budget
  • Deliver all forecasts to appropriate parties by deadlines
  • Manage all orders by deadlines and on time reporting for required reports and documents to appropriate parties
  • Manage all credit, vendor allowance, and advertising claims and issues to resolution
  • Manage and resolve all customer compliance issues regarding freight claims, charge-backs, and RTV
  • Gather, summarize, and deliver product, competitor, industry, customer, and consumer intelligence to support fact-based decision making

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to effectively sell-in and close on key initiatives and manage to profitable sell through
  • Must possess and apply strong business skills (retail math, marketing budget management, and analytical skills)
  • Proven ability to work with accounts of similar size and complexity
  • Strong product presentation skills are essential
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and provide potential solutions
  • Posseses comprehensive and ongoing insights into industry trends
  • Superior computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Retail Math skills including the intricacies of “open to buy” and “gross margins
  • Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in business, marketing, advertising, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of field sales experience in the footwear / apparel industry
  • 5 + years field sales experience with “key accounts”
  • Wholesale experience mandatory
  • Specific sales experience within targeted territory
  • Previous experience managing sales personnel, a plus
  • Must be able to be in showroom in NYC 2-3 days a week
