Sales Manager

  • Manage all sales and events for the WhirlyBall locations in Vernon Hills, IL and Lombard, IL
  • Responsible for the sales growth and development for the Vernon Hills and Lombard locations
  • Divide work week schedule based on needs at Chicago, Lombard and Vernon Hills locations
  • Work with Director of Sales to develop an aggressive outside sales campaign for the Lombard and Vernon Hills locations
  • Establish and build strategic relationships with key partners and clients in Lombard, Vernon Hills, and surrounding areas
  • Actively participate in community organizations in Lombard, Vernon Hills, and surrounding areas
  • Involvement and visibility in local hospitality when needed and relevant
  • Handling group inquiries via telephone and email with adequate response time
  • Capture client information and schedule reservations in event database
  • Communicate all required and relevant event information to clients
  • Confirm necessary contract transactions
  • Follow-Up of proposals, phone calls and inquiries
  • Provide tours of event space(s) to potential clients as needed
  • Effectively communicate all event details to location management and staff
  • Adhere to the mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures


  • Experience, Education, and Certifications
  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience preferably as a supervisor or manager in a hospitality setting
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly encouraged

  • Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Strong organizational, presentation and priority setting skills
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring that management and/or clients posses the pertinent information for the execution of a successful event
  • Composure during stressful events
  • Presentation of a professional image to guests, clients and potential function coordinators
  • Self-motivated and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Genuine enthusiasm and aptitude for sales
  • High level of business acumen and common sense
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Position: This position requires travel during the work week, with some nights and weekends, to the Chicago, Lombard, and Vernon Hills locations.
