Sales Engineer - MIM

Dynacast has recently announced its entry into the metal injection molding (MIM) market, expanding their ability to produce precision components using a wide variety of metals, including stainless steel, titanium and copper.

Dynacast produces precision components by combining extensive engineering knowledge with their specialized manufacturing technologies. The company provides cost effective solutions for their customers, worldwide, by identifying opportunities to redesign or consolidate products and assemblies through die-casting. Dynacast has a history of delivering value to their customers through their engineering expertise, efficient operations and advanced quality planning systems.

Position Summary

The MIM Sales Engineer works closely with the Business Development Manager, General Manager and engineering department to sell and be the technical lead on new products for new MIM accounts and high-target growth divisions of existing MIM customers. This position identifies, defines, specifies, and implements existing or new solutions for such accounts using the company's products, programs, and services. The Sales Engineer establishes new contacts with appropriate decision-makers; interacts and develops relationships with new accounts and existing customers to handle resolution for problems and issues including quality and delivery. The SE is primarily responsible for developing new business at new as well as existing accounts in a multi-state territory.

This home based position can be anywhere in the Midwest or West near a major airport.


  • Work with the Business Development Manager and General Manager to develop strategic growth plan for the territory.
  • Travel through assigned geographic area and contact potential new customers to solicit new program Request for Quote (RFQ) opportunities. Increase customer base by developing new, high-volume OEM accounts or high-target growth divisions of existing customers.
  • Develop relationships with key executives (Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Marketing etc.).
  • Effectively measure, screen, and evaluate new opportunities from all angles (engineering, manufacturing, etc.).


  • Bachelor's Degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • Organized and driven sales professional with strong business sense that thrives in a fast paced environment
  • 5+ years of sales and business development experience selling highly engineered, precision metal components.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work with Engineering Program Managers, Global Sourcing Managers and R&D engineers to understand customer requirements, promote the sale of company products, and provide sales support.
  • Creative, articulate, dynamic & results oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as technical presentation skills to develop, present, and respond to proposals for specific customer requirements.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • A working understanding of a contact management system, preferably
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up 75% of the time.
  • Due to ITAR requirements, employees must be a US citizen or a current Green Card holder.
