Reports to: CEO (with guidance from outside CFO Advisor)
The Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant works with the CEO, outside CFO Advisor and management team and has responsibility for directing the daily activities of the Accounting function. This positions primary purpose is to maximize the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage corporate cash flow including collection and disbursement activity, andproactively communicate current status to CEO and CFO Advisor.
  • Hands on processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, credit cards andall other accounting functions.
  • Coordinate the timely monthly closing, preparation of financial statements, financialreports, special analyses, and other management reports.
  • Manage the accounting function including managing daily accounting activity, prioritysetting, and communication with management.
  • Communicate and interact with department managers to provide support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses and recommendations.
  • Monitor financial statements, cash flow, cost controls, revenues, and expenses andproactively report to management any threats or concerns to the financial stability or profitability of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including, butnot limited to sales and use tax compliance and corporate registrations.
  • Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial andaccounting systems for the company.
  • Establish, document and maintain appropriate accounting, billing, collection, payroll,sales tax, 401k policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Manage and coordinate annual income tax preparation with the independent CertifiedPublic Accounting firm.

Knowledge, Skills & Physical Demands

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  •  Proven management and communication skills – minimum five (5) years experience inaccounting.
  •  Knowledge of computer operation system to include Word, Excel and QuickBooks.
  •  Ability to communicate effectively and positively to internal and external customers.

Language Skills

  •  Ability to read, write, analyze, and evaluate operating reports, manuals, internal &external business correspondence, and use e-mail, computer skills. Present information in an organized and accurate, clear, concise format.
  • Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
  •  Calculate figures and amounts. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, statistics, and someadvanced math may be required. Thorough understanding of percentages and projections.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data / information to draw conclusions and make sound business decisions.
