Accounting Operations Officer - Part-time

Position

Bernoulli Finance is seeking an Accounting Operations Officer to join our fast-growing team. This is a part-time position for an estimated 15 hours/week with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate. This role is based remotely and can be performed from anywhere within the United States.

Our ideal candidate will bring a proactive “doer” attitude, high level of energy, and excellent attention to detail to this role, in addition to their technical qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Study client company operations and evaluate suitability of existing accounting systems in light of long-term operational goals
  • Assist in selecting appropriate accounting, POS, inventory management, and other systems, with the goal to create integrated and efficient work flows
  • Implement system setup and transition of data
  • Act as primary hub for communication and troubleshooting between client and any third parties
  • Assist with structuring or improving company chart of accounts, creating assemblies for inventory management, and other modules to support smooth ongoing operations and reporting
  • Train business owner/internal accounting team in using implemented systems and aid with bringing accounts up to date
  • Determine need for and assist with selection of additional/external accounting support. If needed, act as short-term bookkeeper during transition to external accounting team
  • Act as ongoing accounting manager for company operations, supervise bookkeeping and accounting details, conduct monthly reconciliations
  • Aid with internal ad-hoc accounting projects

Interests, Attitude, Skills

  • Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping & accounting operations for both product- and service-oriented businesses
  • Required: Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise, particularly the Manufacturing & Wholesale modules, and QuickBooks Online
  • Required: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Preferred: Experience with inventory management, and knowledge of SAP accounting systems
  • Tech-savvy, scrappy troubleshooter, ready to learn new skills and software
  • Able to work off-site and manage time and projects with minimal direct supervision
  • Team worker with strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent record keeping and organizational skills
