Account Manager


Northwest Pathology is the leading provider of anatomic pathology services in northwest Washington State and parts of southeast Alaska. We direct the clinical laboratories and provide anatomic pathology services in 9 regional hospitals and provide pathology services to surrounding clinics. Our professional team includes 8 pathologists, who have subspecialty boards or interest covering essentially all aspects of surgical pathology and laboratory medicine. While Northwest Pathology is large enough to offer subspecialty expertise, we are small enough to have a personal relationship with our physicians. We are always available for discussion and consultation and strive continuously to provide outstanding service.

Northwest Labs is searching for an Account Manager to manage existing accounts, including its largest sales account. As an Account Manager, you will manage day-to-day functions of client relationships, streamline systems and drive growth of existing accounts. This role has the potential for growth in multiple avenues of the business; one of the unique perks of working for a ‘start-up’ within an established company.

Northwest operates on a 24/7/365 basis; individual is required to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule flexibility with and without advanced notice is required.


  • Actively manage and grow accounts in a unique territory with a pre-existing customer base.
  • Drive sales in assigned districts through up selling of existing accounts, referrals and establishing relationships with prospective customers.
  • Effectively manage all aspects of existing accounts by providing solution-oriented responses to client concerns including, but not limited to:
    • Requisition review to determine tests ordered/missed, order entry discrepancy, transportation concerns, technical services inquiries, test code/specimen collection inquiries, missing/incorrect billing information and other billing inquiries.
  • Provide In-Service training to office staff.
  • Support phlebotomy staff to streamline specimen acquisition.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for associated specialty testing.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory and occasional overnight travel for meetings.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree is a plus.


  • Consideration provided to candidates without prior sales or account management experience, when they have strong records of academic, military, athletic, scientific and/or civic leadership achievement.
  • Ability to develop & sustain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral & written communication & presentation skills.
  • Must have a clean, valid Driver License and a vehicle to use for work daily.
  • 2 years of combined sales experience within Women's Health or Clinical Diagnostics is preferred.
