JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Controller

SUMMARY: Perform functions that lead to collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information associated with customer accounts. Record payments to customer accounts, perform collection duties and maintain accounts receivable records by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following below. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for setup of all customer accounts including credit background checks
  • Maintain customer database
  • Post deposits to customer accounts daily and process remote bank deposits
  • Maintain and monitor third party electronic payments
  • Audit wholesale transactions to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Reconcile all monies collected to invoices delivered
  • Ability to handle customer communications with particular emphasis on collections
  • Report Delinquent Accounts to regulatory agency
  • Coordinate with internal customer service or sales representatives
  • Process and report wholesale customer returned check payment notices to regulatory agency
  • Prepare statements and distribute to customers semi-monthly
  • Research and reconcile customer inquiries regarding account status
  • Maintain electronic archives
  • Assist with other Accounting functions as needed

QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented, able to meet regulatory deadlines. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Five or more years of experience in accounts receivable and customer interface, particularly in either collections or customer service. Good analytical skills required, accounting knowledge a plus. Must be able to function well within a team and independently.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), Point of Sale experience a plus, Sage 100 a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
