Entry Level / Accounts Payable Representative

Position Description:

The Entry Level  Accounts Payable Representative, has a broad responsibility for proper accounting in assigned area and for exercising judgment and initiative in detecting and resolving problems. These individuals have involvement with compilation of weekly and monthly reporting of payables to internal management and external parties and also involvement in providing supporting documentation for external financial audits as well as Sarbanes-Oxley audits.  Daily activities include working blocked invoices in SAP and VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) systems and doing root cause analysis.  Taking it a step further to also implement process improvements on the issues found.  Good communication skills are required as you will be working with several business partners including the NA plants.

 Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Americas plants (buyers, receivers) to ensure all invoices that are posted and blocked are worked and resolved within 90 days.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and identify balance sheet fluctuation analysis and provide detailed commentary to explain variances.  
  • Participate with continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes & systems
  • Document, test & review journal entries systems & accounting processes for SOX.
  • Conduct balance sheet fluctuation analysis & provide detailed commentary to explain variances.    

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Related field.
  • 0 years’ experience required however an internship in Accounting, or related field is highly desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer systems: MS Office products, (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP experience preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to understand complex information.
  • Interpersonal skills that establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly.
  • Ability to support accounting/finance decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position.
  • Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally and written effectively with all levels of the organization.
