Hughes Network Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager - VoIP / UCaaS who will expand Hughes’ Cloud Solutions and offerings. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in a product management role and a passion for building great products and services that customers love.

Product Management at Hughes is a progressive role that requires challenging the status quo, bringing value to opportunities, evaluating technology partners, and project ownership ensure a great customer experience.  As a Product Manager you will oversee different solutions within Hughes’ managed network portfolio, serve as a subject-matter-expert internally and to customers, and align new offerings to solving marketplace challenges.  Hughes is seeking an individual to impact our VoIP/UCaaS and Cloud-based solutions, helping transform the way our customers interact and consume those services.

Job Description

As a Product Manager at Hughes you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in several key areas:

Communication / Collaboration

  • Working with internal teams, partners, and customers you will curate market drivers/needs to then formulate long-term vision for your services / solutions

  • Rally internal stakeholders and partners to turn insights into actionable strategies to develop and bring your product to market in an agile fashion

  • Interact and update Executive Management concerning customer needs, marketplace trends, and emerging technologies


  • Work with technology partners to evaluate new innovative platforms / capabilities

  • Work with architects and other tech leaders to determine the best design and implementation framework as the team focuses on the best end-user experience

  • Have an order-to-cash understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger ecosystem of service delivery to the customer while tracking impacts from other business units


  • Own and prioritize your solution roadmap to deliver against business goals, working closely with internal teams / partners to ensure resource alignment

  • Define and track KPI’s for your product and services to gauge performance and customer satisfaction – then adjusting your roadmap and planning accordingly

  • Assist in opportunity strategies concerning proposal and partner engagements

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • Experienced with VoIP/UCaaS and Cloud-based concepts

  • 2+ years’ work experience as a Product Manager

  • Travel: 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience applying Agile principles to bring incremental service value /capabilities to the marketplace.

  • Knowledge of AWS/GCP/Azure (SaaS, IaaS) compute and network infrastructure is advantageous

  • Experience working with large cross-functional team to coordinate many stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy in communication

  • Product development and management experiences - from initial concept, requirements gathering, development/deployment planning, evaluation and product launch, performance analysis thru end-of-life planning

  • MBA or advanced degree a plus

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance
