Accounts Payable Supervisor

Essential Functions

1. Staff Supervision: Supervise Accounts Payable Specialists staff to ensure timely processing and workload assigned to meet department demands

2. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience for leadership, branches and accounting departments

3. Foster close working relationship with branches, accounting/finance, purchasing and leadership.

4. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and follow up on pending issues

5. Learn all processes of the Accounts Payables department to become a specialist in all areas to assist with questions from other team members, leadership and field branches

6. Train teams on processes and ensure cross training to require minimum supervision. Perform additional training to AP Specialist as needed to ensure accuracy

7. Lead implementing more efficient systems for scanning and payables

8. Monitor and supervise departmental strategies and goals i.e. SLA

9. Ability to handle high volume invoice processing

10. Timely and effective problem resolution

11. Review and/or provide required documentation during internal and external audits

12. Makes corrections resulting from weekly audits of AP processed

13. Prioritizes workload based on the needs of internal and external customers along with the accounts payable department

Preferred Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED required

2. 4 + years’ experience in accounts payables & supervising teams

3. Knowledge of Oracle ERP or equivalent systems

4. Proficiency in MS Office, O365 and 10-key

5. Demonstrated working ability to work with direct and cross-functional teams

6. Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to change management processes and user adoption techniques

7. Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting

8. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

9. Able to lead groups in department, ensuring adherence to purchasing practices, compliance and guidelines

10. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills required in interacting with both internal and external resources

11. Supervise day-day AP operations

12. Advisors management of opportunities to improve cost, performance or process using facts, research & analysis

13. Gather, update and distribute reports

14. Special projects assigned by management

15. College degree or industry certifications preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Requires a consistent physical presence at the office to ensure that all business needs, supplier needs, internal and external customer needs are met. This often requires working standard business hours, i.e., 7am to 4pm / 8am to 5pm.
