The Fixed-Income Production Support Analyst will provide support and maintenance of Calypso version 15 in Wells Fargo Securities. The support analyst will work in Production Support in a customer {internally} facing role, to drive support of our derivatives businesses. The ideal candidate will need at least 5+ years functional experience gained in the capital markets industry working for an investment bank, financial firm or consultancy. Candidates will have an expertise in the support and/or implementation of Calypso Front, Middle and Back Office Systems. The ideal candidate will also have a strong foundation in the support of Derivatives in one or more of the following areas of expertise: Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, FX Derivatives and Foreign Exchange. Candidates with exposure to support work in Clearing, Collateral & Securities Finance or Risk will also be considered.



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of capital markets experience
  • 5+ years of consultative business analysis experience
  • 1+ year of SQL experience
  • 3+ years of Perl or Shell experience
  • 1+ year of experience engineering and analyzing both Windows based and Unix based operating systems
  • 7+ years of systems support analysis experience demonstrated through work or military experience
  • 4+ years of experience working in managed services as demonstrated through work, military, or education

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years working in systems or business analysis and system design within the capital markets industry.
  • Experience in the support of a Front, Middle or Back office system within a Bank, Hedge fund or Asset Manager.
  • Strong knowledge and functional experience in any of the following asset classes: Foreign Exchange and Money Market, Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equities and Equity Derivatives, Commodities and Commodity Derivatives.
  • Front Office Requirements: Detailed hands-on knowledge about industry-standard front office standards for market data management (bootstrapping algorithm), trade capture, pricing (Black-Scholes, Cox-Ross), and risk (Monte Carlo, VAR).
  • Back Office Requirements: Detailed hands-on knowledge about industry-standard back office processing functional areas, including settlements (SWIFT, ACH, FedWire), documentation (confirmation, advices, reset advices, etc.) and accounting (general ledger, PnL accounting, etc.).
  • Experience in the support of a Front, Middle or Back office system within a Bank, Hedge fund or Asset Manager.
  • Experience with ITRS Geneos monitoring software Splunk, with the ability to map conceptual financial and business elements to practical monitoring system capabilities.
  • Experience with the Excel add-in and building complex sheets that utilizes macros
  • A strong, demonstrable record of customer service. The support analyst will need to understand customer needs and build effective relationships with Front Office users. The support analyst must be able to convey plans, issues and concerns to clients and team members in clear, logical and concise manner.
  • Must be customer driven, have the ability to work within a team environment, and be focused on providing a high quality of service to the customer.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on educating and training customers, and patience and will be a key to success.

  • Provide first-rate support of Calypso application and databases in Production and UAT. Focus is on users in Trading and Sales, Market Risk, Middle Office and Finance.
  • Responsible for supporting overnight grid jobs, various workflows, performing database queries, overseeing batch jobs and assisting with all code deployments.
  • Automate various production processes and clear up backlogs in disk user permissions, customized reports, monitoring processes.
  • Provide timely responses to user queries and production incidents by executing scenarios in test environments and reporting back findings quickly.
  • Work directly with internal customers to scope, gather, review, create, and support business and functional requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with the Calypso development and QA teams to set and manage expectations around project timelines and development cycles by working with front-office users, infrastructure partners and other internal project teams.
  • Support internal customers with the development of their own internal project plan, including the identification of key setup and configuration tasks, scope considerations, timeline and scheduling, as well as resource requirements.
  • Work hands on with Calypso developers and QA teams to configure and test functionality to ensure that it meets the business requirements.
  • Work with the Calypso system and its users to test the implementation, achieve signoff (UAT), and continue to move the system toward go-live.
  • Help train users on basic use of the system, new functionality, etc.
  • Perform Disaster Recovery Tests.
  • Implement and fortify monitoring program through ITRS Geneos tool and Splunk.
