The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator provides support to the Community Involvement & Volunteer Coordinator and the development team of Hope Ministries. This part-time position will be primarily (or exclusively) evenings and weekends to facilitate meeting with volunteer groups.                                                                               


  • Carry out activities relating to volunteer and community relations as directed. This may include prospecting, scheduling, meeting, and leading volunteer groups.
  • Participate in donor thank you calls, and donor cultivation activities as assigned
  • Communicate the purpose, vision, and objectives of the ministry to volunteers, donors, church partners, other service providers, and the community at large.
  • Carry, maintain, and utilize a company-provided cell phone or smart phone to conduct the responsibilities of this position to include being reachable to staff and volunteers, and checking and responding to emails or text messages in a timely manner to ensure that priorities are met during the scheduled work hours.
  • Provide targeted administrative support as requested.
  • Effectively track and report on volunteer group cultivation, scheduling, activities, and outcomes.
  • Work in a spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance with all other staff members of Hope Ministries and its subsidiaries.
  • Participate in the spiritual growth and Christian instruction of those who Hope Ministries serves. This can include (but is not restricted to) personal mentoring, the sharing of Scripture and Biblical encouragement, and praying with program participants. This may be in a structured setting (i.e., a classroom or chapel), or unstructured, with individual clients as the need arises.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.


  • Spiritual Qualifications:  Must have a lifestyle that demonstrates moral and ethical adherence to the teachings of the Bible and an expressed desire to minister to those who are poor, needy, and homeless.  Must agree with Hope Ministries’ Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General Experience:  Comfort speaking in front of and leading groups.
  • Specific Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and relational database applications. Comfort with learning and using software solutions and hardware including smart phone and laptop.

Work Schedule:  Part-time – up to 15 hours per week, primarily or exclusively evenings and weekends
