Receiving Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFCATIONS: Must be mature and have the ability to supervise all day operations and have general knowledge of receiving and put-away procedures and the ability to utilize all electronic systems we have in place. Minimum of 3 years in a food distribution environment or equivalent college education. Must have neat appearance and be able to hear and follow instructions. Must have the ability to lead people and follow a plan through in implementation. Must be able to communicate at all levels and possess an ability to operate within the systems utilized, to manage our business. Must practice safety at all times and be able to recognize safety hazards within warehouse.



PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES NEEDED:

Must have the physical ability to oversee the efficient operation of all aspects of the receiving operation.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Insure that all receivers, lift drivers, clerks, sanitation have the appropriate training to do their jobs in safe, accurate, and productive manner.
  2. Evaluation of accuracy, safety and productivity of all day shift employees assigned to them.
  3. Research. And verify all receiving discrepancies.
  4. Research and correct all put-away issues relative to RF.
  5. See that warehouse is kept in orderly condition.
  6. Have employees work returns and stray cases.
  7. Insure the accurate receipt of IBT's.
  8. See that all purchase orders are run with the appropriate labels and that product is received accurately.
  9. Make sure that all trucks received are scheduled or that we charge for and collect a late truck fee.
  10. Attain specified levels of productivity and overtime control
  11. Work on identifying and reducing warehouse damage.
  12. Have personnel that can pull will call orders during the day.
  13. Make sure that all yum requirements as well as FDA, USDA and any other federal compliance is being met relative to receiving.
  14. Date checks of cooler and perishable items as required.
  15. Keep up with time and attendance and schedule vacation and VTO to control operating costs.
  16. Identify ways to reduce costs within the operation.
  17. Supervise all day operations personnel and help insure security at all times.
  18. Keep the warehouse, trucks and premises secure and allow no trespassing by outsiders during the day shift.
  19. Look for process change and implement after approval for all aspects of the day operation.
  20. Maintain the inventory accuracy.
  21. Train and evaluate line supervision to insure that they are completing their jobs in a satisfactory manner.
  22. Complete payroll for his department accurately and process through to payroll for completion.
  23. Assist inventory control on working discrepancy shortages.
  24. Any other duties as assigned by the director of operations or general manager
