Job Description

Job Summary

The Hydro/Liquid Operator supports and adheres to all safety, environmental and quality requirements. This position will qualify and maintains proficiency within the role to ensure the duties of the role are met.

Essential functions:

  • Protects safety, the environment and product quality in all situations

  • Participates in Process Safety Management (PSM)

  • Remotely operates process via Foxboro DCS

  • Manually manipulates equipment and performs other manual operations as required (e.g. Adds, handles and drums catalyst, operates manual valves, adds calcium carbonate, etc…)

  • Draws and analyzes process samples as needed or requested

  • Maintains a clean workplace and process

  • Performs assigned computer functions

  • Analyzes process indications (physical and electronic) and trends to troubleshoot process issues and out-of-range control variables

  • Maintains process logs and logbook, electronic and manual

  • Carries out work plan and housekeeping schedule as defined in verbal instructions, written Team Leader notes and master cleaning schedule.

  • Monitors and controls usage of various process chemicals and consumables (e.g. nickel catalyst, NaOH, calcium carbonate, etc…)

Work Environment

  • Ascends and descends stairs up to 5 stories

  • Lift, pull & push weights of 50 lbs

  • Works in hot and humid inside environment

  • Occasionally works outside for 60 minutes at a time, sometimes longer, in all seasons.

  • Commonly works in high heat for 30 minutes at a time, sometimes longer.

  • Works with hot liquid and steam systems, and around hot piping.

  • Qualified and physically able to wear and work in a dust mask and full-face respirator

  • Wears designated PPE

Job Specifications

  • Successful applicants must be over the age of 18 and have a High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.

  • Applicants must also be authorized to work in the US

  • Ability to work a rotating shift

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
