Sr. Analytical Production Specialist

Title:  Sr. Analytical Production Specialist
Location:  Fairfield, NJ
Duration:  Contract to Hire
Schedule:  M-F Full Time
Target Start Date:  ASAP

Responsibilities:
  • Production:
    • Issue production batch records (PBRs) according to production plan 
    • Executing all production processes consistent with PBR
    • Chemical reaction, rotary evaporative distillation, extraction, filtration, filter chromatography, crystallization, distillation, resin column, resin preparation, and sampling
    • Measure/weigh various chemical materials/solvents (some hazardous) and assist in inventory control 
    • Run all in-process checks using analytical instrumentation (for both TAFEA and EGT processes)
    • TLC, HPLC, HPLC-MS, GCMS, melting point and polarimeter – sample/solvent preparation
    • Maintain product and raw material inventory – includes ordering as required
    • Prepare, clean, and breakdown all required process equipment and areas – maintain all relevant documents and log books Buchi/AGI evaporators, vacuum pumps, extractors, reactors, chillers, Nutsche, Biotage
  • Research and Development:
    • Execute lab experiments for process chemists as required
    • Maintain experimental records and laboratory notebooks
  • Facility/Equipment:
    • Fill/pump solvents/chemicals for R&D Lab and other production processes as needed
    • Source and submit order requests for facility equipment and repair/replacement equipment parts
    • Facility solvent and gas inventory maintenance and ordering
  • Packaging/Shipping/Receiving:
    • Affix labels to various final product packages/bottles
    • Bottle TAFEA as needed (bottle tares, labels, etc.)
    • Prepare products for shipping to customer (overpack, box, labels, etc.)
    • Receive, inventory and quarantine incoming chemicals/solvents
  • Quality Assurance/Control:
    • Maintain batch record tracking log and review completed batch records for errors/deviations
    • Review COAs of received chemicals/solvents from approved vendors and release from quarantine 
    • Run all in-process checks using analytical instrumentation 
    • Execute batch release analytical testing and paperwork for all products ,while ensuring all quality documents meet internal and external requirements  
    • Assist in completing required documentation for batch releases (COAs, logs, labels, etc.)
  • Environmental Officer Duties:
    • Monitor and enforce compliance of environmental regulatory requirements (EPA and NJDEP), including any company environmental policies and procedures
    • Oversee all Hazardous Waste Storage areas and ensure regulatory agency compliance (labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.)
    • Coordinate with Hazardous Waste removal services for waste pickups and ensure all documentation is accurate prior to shipping
    • Maintain organized records and logs of all documentation pertaining to environmental regulatory compliance (waste manifests, employee training records, Biennial reports, CRTK reports, emergency plans, contingency plans, etc.)
    • Schedule and conduct EHS Meetings/Trainings as needed
    • Assist in compliance reviews, audits, general risk assessments and other environmental assessments to support EHS management
    • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training
Requirements:
  • BS Degree
  • Pilot plant processing experience and equipment knowledge
  • Experience running reactions
  • Experience running HPLC (ChemStation)
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation and sample prep
  • Experience w/ Pharmaceuticals (API pharma background ideal/preferred)
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance regulations (NJDEP and EPA)
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic chemical knowledge
  • Ability to use MS Office programs (excel, word, outlook)
  • Good organizational skills
