Sr. Graphic Designer - Print


Works as a member of the creative team under management direction to design and produce graphic and visual presentations using current computer-aided design software. Artwork types include but are not limited to: sales materials, brochures, catalogs, direct-mail pieces, corporate communications, instructional material, tradeshow materials, displays, electronic media, websites and product packaging. Social Media and email marketing graphics occasionally. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:


  • Create visual art/presentations that comply with company standards and requirements as directed by using technical and creative skills
  • Prioritize, track, adhere to timelines and meet established deadlines of multiple projects at a time
  • Use creativity and critical-thinking skills to evaluate graphics, photographs and text to plan presentation of material, product or service
  • Use company’s software resources to accomplish most efficient and economic design solution for the project assignment
  • Produce printed and digital proofs for edits and approvals
  • Revise proofs according as dictated by project priority and deadline
  • Brainstorm with the marketing team and management to determine the best art solution to maximize project impact
  • Prepare cost estimate for project within quality specifications, financial constraints and deadlines 
  • Produce layouts, mock up and present media and packaging samples to management for selection and approval 
  • Mock displays and corresponding samples for merchandising and sales presentations
  • Prepare final print/digital files and deliver them according to production specification
  • Review quality of final product before release/file submission
  • Generate and manipulate graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into functional multimedia files including but not limited to: web pages, flip-books, flash content, banners, etc.
  • Maintain all photography, digital graphic files and hard-copy files according to company process and procedure specifications
  • Use company’s tangible and intangible resources in accordance with policies and budgets
  • Any other project as required by management


Minimal background and knowledge requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent of education and experience – 5 plus years in design environment
  • Advanced knowledge of creative suite. 
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Powerpoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience and/or formal training producing product catalogs, promotional flyers, brochures, direct-mail pieces and product-packaging. Wholesale and retail packaging design experience is a plus. Catalog experience required.
  • Experience with PIM and DAM or other web-based catalog content management system and digital asset management is also highly preferred
  • Candidates that have experience with hardware/plumbing retail/wholesale products will be given special consideration
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Attention to detail with self-discipline and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well under pressure
