Health Plan Account Specialist  - Collegeville, PA


Position supports large health plan/payor initiatives in support of value-based contracts and agreements.  Evaluates health plan provided data and works in partnership with the plan to identify hospital leakage targets. Initiates contacts with hospital accounts regarding network lab compliance on behalf of various health plans, utilizing established scripts and protocols but with ability to respond to off-script questions.  The role collaborates with health plan colleagues to develop and execute leakage and re-direction programs for key national payors.

Job Accountabilities:

•       Improve customer experience by calling “on behalf on the health plan” (e.g.; Anthem) hospitals and physicians using high cost laboratories and influencing them to use in network providers like Quest.

•       Identify, prioritize and act to develop a customer experience to reduce plan leakage.

•       Drive lab-redirection and resulting growth by working with the Health Plan Director and Account Manager for assigned national account on a strategy for each targeted national plan.

•       Follow-up on high touch client calls to improve the customer experience and knowledge of Quest capabilities and the plan’s contract terms and expectations for lab services.

•       Trend the reasons for repeated client failures to direct lab work to Quest and to other in-network providers.

•       Maintain knowledge of Quest capabilities to communicate the Quest value proposition to hospital clients.

•       Work with Health Plan Operations to maintain quarterly leakage and steerage reports, and associated analysis.

•       Run daily call reports

•       Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

•       Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or the Life Sciences.

•       Experienced dealing with clinical and administrative hospital staff of higher rank where they illustrated data, value-propositions and influenced decision-makers.

•       Experience as an Internal Account Manager at Quest preferred.

•       Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Sales Force.
