Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for providing manufacturing support to the production Value Streams in the following areas: evaluating new and existing designs for manufacture, creating accurate, safe and cost effective manufacturing processes, specifying and justifying suitable machinery and tooling to meet manufacturing needs and solving day-to-day manufacturing problems. Provide support in the areas of Fabrication, Robotic and Manual Welding, Assembly Tooling/Processes, and Automation.

The Manufacturing Engineer Will Provide the Following Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide machinery, tooling, material specifications, manufacturing processes, quality inspection documents and incentive time standards needed to accurately and safely manufacture component parts.
  • Provide support as needed for Value Stream and plant/Company customers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide technical input and costing for equipment/machinery, and tooling for new and existing products. Research and Development of new manufacturing processes, tooling and machinery.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement into manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and implement Change Orders (CO's) at current revision levels.
  • Continuous education and self- improvement both through on the job experience and formal training offers.
  • Maintain Plant and Departmental records and documentation.
  • Research and Recommendation of capital spending projects.
  • Creation of Project Appropriation Requests (PAR's)
  • Creation of Purchase Requisitions and delivery schedules
  • Execute the project timeline and key deliverables\
  • Provide leadership to direct and indirect associates, as well as vendors/contractors

The Successful Manufacturing Engineer Will Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS Engineering and/or Technical Degree in related field or
  • 3-5 years engineering or manufacturing experience, required. Heavy equipment or Big Lift-Trucks experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical/ electronic componentry and circuitry as it relates to lift trucks.
  • CAD/CAM, PRO-E, and COREL drawing familiarization
  • ISO techniques and philosophy
  • JIT, CSM, DFT, FlowBase400 techniques and philosophy
  • Quality Assurance procedures and fundamentals
  • Product Engineering procedures and fundamentals
  • Systems knowledge (AS400, NOMS, CORE, EDM), preferred
