In this role, you will:

  • Work with business subject matter experts and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical documentation.
  • Act as a general liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Work with test teams to enable the creation of test scenarios and plans.
  • Expertise in various business analysis methodologies, including data analysis, use case development, story writing, and user acceptance testing and product documentation.
  • Create reference manuals, training material, and other technical documents as necessary.
  • Assist in the training of new users for the solution.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with users.
  • Work with implementation teams to analyze and triage defects.
  • Work on agile projects (so, it's a plus if you have experience writing user stories, creating acceptance criteria, stand-ups, product review sessions, backlog grooming meetings, retrospectives, sprint planning processes, and of automated testing processes).

A successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • At least 5+ years of professional experience within a BA function. Insurance or Utility industry experience a plus.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate business vision into defined and prioritized stories for the team backlog.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex customer needs and translate them into stories with actionable acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to write requirements, reports, specifications, plans and analysis in a clear and concise manner, and at a level that is appropriate for stakeholders.
  • Understanding of IT resources that are available and appropriate to help define and validate requirements and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Ability to develop requirements through interviews, questions, user observation, workshops, brainstorming, use cases, role playing and prototyping.
  • Effective, clear and concise communication skills appropriate for varying audiences.
  • Ability to align and recommend solutions that align to organizations strategic objectives.

  • Experience with Jira or similar Agile backlog management tool
